The Canadian Brewhouse was founded in Edmonton in 2002. We currently have 5 locations across Alberta, including 2 successful franchise locations. We owe the enormous success we've had so far, to our unique business and marketing model, and our outstanding team. We've been successful in developing and packaging this system, in a way that puts our franchisees in a strong position in the marketplace.
We plan to expand throughout the Alberta and Saskatchewan marketplaces in coming years, and we have already identified a number of markets and specific locations as prime expansion opportunities. We are open to suggestions about new potential markets or locations, but the final decision will be based on our extensive market and competitive analysis.
Our house is your house.
FAQ:
What costs are involved in opening a Canadian Brewhouse franchise?
The Canadian Brewhouse charges an initial franchise fee of $35,000, a royalty of 4% of gross sales, and an advertising fund contribution of 2% of gross sales. Our fee structure is many times lower than similar franchise opportunities in this industry, and we'd be happy to tell you about our competitive analysis.
In addition to the fee structure, the franchisee is responsible for the costs of construction and renovation of the selected location. This cost is highly variable, depending on square footage, the amount of structural renovations needed, the previous tenant, market factors, etc. The construction and renovation costs for our current locations, have ranged from $700,000 to $1,200,000. We are happy to help our franchisees obtain financing, through cooperation with financial institutions, and through referrals, although we are not a bank, and we don't lend money.
What can I expect to make as a return?
It’s hard to give a clear answer to this, but keep in mind that a successful bar can generate huge cash flow and profit, and that every one of our existing locations is currently profitable. After screening, and signing of a non disclosure agreement, we are willing to open our books to show you a clear financial picture of our corporate stores, and our franchise locations, as well as financial projections and supporting data, for your location. What we feel is the biggest indicator of profitability, and franchisee satisfaction, is that all of our current franchisees are interested in expanding their territory, or buying another franchise.
Do I need to buy products from The Canadian Brewhouse?
The Canadian Brewhouse does not sell products directly to its franchisees. In order to ensure consistency, franchisees must operate under strict conformity to our procedures and products. We use both local and national suppliers, and work closely with our franchisees to ensure that supply chains are consistent with our quality standards.
Do I need to run the franchise myself?
You do not necessarily need run the franchise yourself, however, each store must have a full time manager, who has completed our thorough training process. We do recommend that a franchisee takes a hands on approach, and the level of involvement of franchisee is one of the many factors taken into account, in deciding wether to take someone on as a new franchisee.
Do I get a territory?
You don’t need to worry about us opening up another location down the street. We offer each franchisee a well defined area, where they have the exclusive rights to The Canadian Brewhouse franchise system.
